DIGS Hydrovac Acquires Dean Christian Hydrovac, Adding Oilfield and Industrial Expertise to Its Growing Alberta Fleet

Share

DIGS Hydrovac has announced the acquisition of Dean Christian Hydrovac Ltd., a Calgary-based hydro excavation company with over 25 years of experience serving the industrial and oilfield sectors across Calgary and Southern Alberta. The deal adds a fully certified crew and specialized equipment to DIGS Hydrovac’s existing fleet, reinforcing the company’s capacity to meet growing demand across Western Canada.

Dean Christian Hydrovac Ltd. was founded by Dean Christian, who built the company from a small family operation into a recognized name in Alberta’s hydrovac sector. Alongside crew members Cody Pratt and Terry Snaith, Christian developed a reputation for precision, safety, and reliability across industrial excavation, oilfield services, utility daylighting, and trenching. The company operated a fleet of 2024 Kenworth Tornado F4 trucks and held a strong certifications profile, including H2S, Ground Disturbance Level 2, TDG/WHMIS, CSTS, EGSO, and Fortis and Enmax certification.

Dean Christian will remain with the business following the acquisition, continuing to serve the customers he has built long-term relationships with, a point DIGS Hydrovac emphasized in announcing the deal. “From the beginning, it was clear that our companies shared the same values: putting customers first, building lasting relationships, and delivering reliable, professional service,” DIGS said in its announcement.

For DIGS Hydrovac, a company based in Southern Alberta, the acquisition builds on an expanding operational footprint across Calgary, Edmonton, and Western Canada. The company runs a fleet of Tri-Drive Ecolite trucks and serves customers in oil and gas, mining, municipal infrastructure, fibre optic and telecom, and civil construction.
