Black Hydrovac Names John Capuria General Manager as Company Expands Regional Operations

Share

CHANTILLY, Va. — Black Hydrovac, a woman- and minority-owned vacuum excavation company serving mission-critical infrastructure clients across the mid-Atlantic, has appointed John Capuria as General Manager. The hire reflects the company's continued investment in experienced leadership as it scales to meet growing demand across the Washington, D.C. metro area and beyond.

Capuria brings years of hands-on hydrovac industry experience to the role, including oversight of office operations and regional teams throughout the East Coast. His background in non-destructive digging operations and his track record managing complex field logistics position him well to lead Black Hydrovac's day-to-day operations as the company takes on an expanding portfolio of high-stakes projects.

"We are thrilled to have John join our team," said Kristy Black, Owner of Black Hydrovac. "His leadership and industry experience will be a tremendous asset as we continue serving mission-critical construction clients and strengthening our reputation for operational excellence."

Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Chantilly, Virginia, Black Hydrovac has built a strong reputation in vacuum excavation for clients where precision and reliability are non-negotiable. Using advanced pressurized water and vacuum systems, the company safely exposes and documents underground utilities to protect critical infrastructure at data centers, hospitals, airports, government facilities, and military installations. Services include test pitting, slot trenching, remote excavation, and debris removal, delivered across Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C., West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.

Black Hydrovac differentiates itself through a safety-first culture, rigorous daily project reporting, and consistent scheduling, all essential on the complex, high-risk jobs the company routinely handles. The firm holds multiple industry certifications, including WOSB, SWaM, MBE, MWAA LSBE, Avetta-approved, and VDOT prequalified status.

With Capuria in place, Black Hydrovac is positioned to deepen its service capabilities and pursue growth across the region while maintaining the reliability and precision its clients depend on.
